In the past, Emmet and Ingo lived in Orre. They left with their parents after the first Shadow Pokemon incident. However, when they were on a train to Johto from Kanto [before the Magnet Train, they had another train system, it was just slower], they were attacked by a Team Rocket grunt. Ingo had a Cubone, and it died in said attack. Their mother did protect them the best she could with her Pokemon, but it scared both of the brothers away from becoming trainers until they were 14. That's why they're older then the norm. [Their dad is a train conductor.]

In Johto, that's also when they met Elesa - she visits every summer, to go to her dads friend - Professor Elm. She's been doing this for three years, and that's why she's a friend of Emmet and Ingo.

Their real story did start, when Emmet chose his starter and went out to collect an egg. The world seemed wonderful to him - he retrieved the egg, and his brother got his starter as well. When he was starting off on the badge challenge, though, his childhood friend (Elesa) decided to travel with him. At that time, Emmet decided he'd try not to kill any other Pokemon.

And so their quest started. However, this wasn't a normal Nuzlocke world - Arceus was testing Johto, and so the encounters were randomized - Emmet's first was a Venusaur called Bulby, for example. He started his journey, catching everything he could, and going after the gyms. He couldn't let himself frown, even when he lost Minirona - his first loss.

Soon, though, he heard of Team Rocket cutting off Slowpoketails. He knew he couldn't stand by - Team Rocket were bad. They hurt both Ingo and Emmet, after all. He couldn't even stop himself from breaking his own vow not to really kill any Pokemon. He was all alone then, except for Jolt the Pikachu and his starter, Fira the Quilava.

After that, he continued on. He battled in Goldenrod, and won another badge alongside his brother. At that point, he decided to ask Ingo to travel with him, but Ingo said no. Why? Ingo doesn't like travelling with people, when he's lost more then Emmet.

And so, Emmet went up with Elesa, and awoke the three Legendary Beasts - Suicune, Entei, and Raikou. Entei had her eye on Emmet, though - they were destined to meet again.

After that, Emmet went over towards Mahogany, and finally told Elesa his past. This past-telling was overheard though - first by C the Charmeleon, and then by... well, Kudari the Mewtwo. Emmet and Kudari decided to become friends over their mutual hate of Team Rocket, and they went to stop the Red Gyarados. However, said Gyarados killed two of his Pokemon (Nummi the Snorlax and Denny the Rampardos.) And, so, he knocked it out - the first time he stopped himself from catching something. In the Team Rocket building, Kudari also went nuts and nearly destroyed it. Perfect partners.

The next gym, though, was also rather shattering. His Pikachu died, alongside with a mad Primeape. Depressed, Emmet went towards Olivine, to try and cheer himself up. Elesa was also rather worried, mind you. In that city, they met with Ingo, who'd just finished with the gyms. Apparently, there was also a sick Pokemon - he mentioned it, before flying off on his Zapdos. After resting for a few days, Emmet decided he should help that Gym Leader. So, he climbed up the tower.

However, on the way, his starter died. Sure, he finished climbing, but he was super depressed afterwards. He left Elesa and Kudari (!!) alone in the Pokemon Center, and went to the beach. There, he met with Entei once more, and discussed stuff. Apparently, there used to be a Battle Frontier, until some kid in Sinnoh screwed up the region, and almost everybody there is stuck in time. She also tells him that it'll be better - he'll get to see the world, and he'll be important to the fate of the universe.

And, also, the next day - Ingo comes to check on his little brother. They both go south to Cianwood together, and Ingo captures Arceus at that point.

The gyms go rather good after this, as does the defeat of Team Rocket at the Radio Tower. Ingo ends up erasing them from reality, after they threaten Emmet with a gun. Emmet also loses his first capture, Bulby, to the final gym.
However, before they can go to the Elite Four, Elesa has to go home. Emmet gifts her Raikou, who he caught just before Clair, and Ingo gives over Jirachi, who he captured before Chuck.

And then, off to Kanto. They defeat the league, but not without captures. And then, for a year, they go on the S.S. Anne, to try and relax after becoming Champions.

During that time, they decide to take on the Kanto League - only using captures from that region. A fun little game, so they don't try and use their overpowered friends.

And so, that happened. Emmet only had one loss during that time, and made a few powerful friends. Like Giratina. Yeah. And then, the two went up Mt. Silver... and met with the former champ, Lia. A girl who defeated the league, one of the first Nuzlockers to win. The three battled, with Emmet only losing his Dragonite, Lyra.

But, Emmet had doubt put into his heart by Lia and her words. What should a Nuzlocker do after winning? Is it fine to win? What about those who died?

Ingo's pretty worried, so he asks their Dialga for help. Dudek takes them to the future, and shows them their fate. Being Subway Bosses. That cheers Emmet up, of course. The brothers decide that they'll train - but release most of their Pokemon. They deserve freedom, and they can protect more Pokemon in the wild from bad guys like if Team Rocket return. They only kept a few - and decided to go to Hoenn, to train at the only remaining Battle Frontier. It's here they meet Emerald - a Torchic who took a human shape, and wanted to be a Frontier Brain. Together, the three became close friends.

However, this isn't the end. The three, though never becoming Frontier Brains, were invited to the re-opening of the Global Battle Frontier, saved from being frozen in time. The three went there, and Emmet met Entei again - who turned out to be one of the Frontier Brains sort-of - Caitlin, the princess of the Battle Castle. Apparently, she escaped in this new form, and thought Emmet would be strong enough - I mean, he does know a lot of legendaries. The two go off, and Emmet decides he'll show off by beating all the faculties within a year - Emerald decides to try and fight him. Soon, though, he discovers what Ingo's up to - Ingo's stuck with a very broken, very scared Grimsley. You see, Grimsley has the Dimentional Scream, but he can't control his visions of the future. And, in the future, the world is meant to be destroyed by Ghetsis. So yeah. Emmet is taken from the same day that Ingo decides to use the power of his friend Uxie to erase his memories, to try and help him.

Yeah, it's an odd, but also oddly worrying and scary world.

Note, also, that the multiverse is starting to collapse in his world. Just something you should know. By this point, Emmet has two Pokemon who know of the multiverse - R and C, who are semi-aware that they shouldn't be here. That Emmet isn't their OT. But while in Ink City, they won't remember the truth. [That truth is that they used to belong to Raz from Psychonauts, who also got caught up in this collapsing multiverse.]
